Stitching & assembly

What this stage covers

Upper stitching and shoe assembly bring the prepared parts into the agreed silhouette. Compare seams, fastening details, the shape of the pair and sole attachment with the approved sample. Construction and finishing requirements vary by shoe type and should be confirmed for the selected model.

Details to confirm

  • Stitch position, seam alignment and fastening details.
  • Pair shape, upper alignment and the visible sole connection.
  • Sample approval and the finishing requirements for the selected shoe.

  1. Upper stitching and detail assembly

Prepared components are joined to form the upper. Depending on the style, this can include lining, reinforcement, straps, eyelets or other fittings. Review seam position, alignment, skipped stitches and loose ends against the agreed sample. The thread, seam finish and component joining sequence must suit the chosen construction.

    Points to review

    • Seam alignment and stitch appearance
    • Lining and fittings placement
    • Loose ends and component matching

Before moving onAn assembled upper consistent with the agreed style reference.

  2. Shaping and sole connection

Upper shaping gives the shoe its intended profile, while sole connection completes the main structure. Different shoe constructions use different joining methods. Check alignment, left/right shape and the visible junction between the upper and sole. Confirm the selected method and any performance checks for that style rather than assuming every shoe uses the same technique.

    Points to review

    • Shape and left/right proportions
    • Upper-to-sole alignment
    • Joining method and agreed checks
